Ged Balmer
Cert. Ed., BSc. (Hons), MSc.,
C. Psychol., AFBPsS.

(An English national with fluent French)

After 13 years of teaching in LEA maintained schools,
I qualified as an educational psychologist in 1986.
After 25 years of full time continuous employment
as such by one of the London Boroughs,
I am now in private practice.

I am an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society,
a member of the Division of Education and Child Psychology
and a Chartered Educational Psychologist.
I am registered as a Practitioner Psychologist with the Health Professions Council
I have an Enhanced Disclosure CRB check certificate.

I specialise in educational problems with pupils and students from 6 - 16 years old.
Additionally, for people aged 17 plus, I carry out an abbreviated psychometric assessment
and full literacy or numeracy tests to evaluate levels of specific need.
This may facilitate extra provision in further and higher education or employment.

My extensive experience includes full assessment of underlying abilities
in relation to dyslexia, dyscalculia, dyspraxia, specific language disorder, learning difficulties,
Statementing, access arrangements for public examinations
and Special Educational Needs (SEN) Tribunals both as
as an independent psychologist and equally "from the other side"
as the Local Education Authority officer.

As a private, independent psychologist, I can be available at relatively
short notice to give advice and an unbiased opinion about your child.
As well as providing psychological advice,
I can advise on SEN procedures and SEN Tribunals.
I can also help to clarify previous educational psychology reports.

I am based in the South East of the UK, in London SE9
on the Greenwich/Bromley border, 15 minutes from
the Dartford Tunnel/QE2 Bridge Crossing of the M25,
but I am prepared to travel.

Please contact me for very prompt
advice, assessment and an independent opinion,
a personal, bespoke service
from a private chartered educational psychologist.
