Ged Balmer
Cert. Ed., BSc. (Hons), MSc.,
C. Psychol., AFBPsS.
(An English national with fluent French)
After
13 years of teaching in LEA maintained schools,
I qualified as a chartered educational psychologist and am now
in my 23rd year of being employed as such by one of the London
Boroughs.
I
am an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society,
a member of the Division of Education and Child Psychology
and a
Chartered Educational Psychologist.
I
specialise in educational problems with pupils and students from 6 - 16
years old.
My extensive experience includes
assessment for dyslexia, dyspraxia, dyscalculia/dyscalculalia and
learning
difficulties,
"Statementing", "access arrangements" for public examinations
and Special Educational Needs (SEN) Tribunals both as
as an independent psychologist and equally "from the other side"
as the Local Education Authority
Representative.
As
a private, independent psychologist, I can be available at relatively
short notice to give advice and an unbiased opinion about your child.
As well as providing psychological advice,
I can advise on SEN procedures and SEN
Tribunals.
I can also help to clarify previous educational psychology reports.
I
am based in the South East of the UK, in London SE9
on the Greenwich/Bromley border, 15 minutes from
the Dartford Tunnel/QE2 Bridge Crossing of the M25,
but I am prepared to travel.
